PHADRIAN AVENUE Collective was born out of necessity – a response to the silent struggles and overlooked triumphs of Caribbean immigrant women (CIW) in higher education.
For too long, the voices and experiences of CIW have been marginalized in academic spaces, leaving many to navigate a system that was not built with their unique cultural and gendered identities in mind.
PHADRIAN AVENUE Collective emerged as a beacon of belonging, a space where CIW could see themselves reflected, validated, and empowered.

The inspiration for PHADRIAN AVENUE Collective is deeply rooted in the lived realities of countless Caribbean women who have pursued education in the U.S., only to be met with challenges that extend beyond the classroom – linguistic biases, cultural displacement, and the constant negotiation of identity.
